Pittsburg Fire Department completes reports on all incidents to which the department responds. Information from these reports is filed with two state fire record databases. One is called the Texas Fire Information Reporting System (TEXFIRS) and the other is the Texas A&M Forest Service (Fire Department Reporting System). The former is also forwarded to the National Fire Information Reporting System (NFIRS).
In most cases, insurance providers require a fire report from the responding fire service agency on fire insurance claims which are filed. We try to have fire reports completed within three days of the incident but sometimes, due to investigations or scheduling, it may take a few days.
