The Pittsburg Fire Department (PFD) is a combination fire department that relies on volunteer firefighters.
Membership
Membership to the department is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age, who have clear criminal and driving records, and who are able to meet minimum requirements for attending training and emergency incidents. PFD also has a Junior Membership program which is open to high school students between the ages of 16 to 18 who can meet the same requirements as those of regular membership and have a notarized minor's release form for their parent or guardian.
Applications can be obtained at our Central Station. Applicants are voted on by the existing membership following positive background and reference checks.
