Wesley Kizer
Wesley Kizer serves as the Fire Marshal and Fire Supervisor for the City of Pittsburg. His primary job functions are overseeing the Career staff, ensuring and maintaining the department's assets' operational readiness, overseeing the fire prevention programs for the department, conducting inspections, and examining plans for new and remodeled construction in the city.
Personal Background
Wesley was born and raised in Pittsburg, where he still resides. He and his wife, Kailey, have been married since 2013. They have three children, Alayna, Conner, and Bentley.
Experience
Wesley joined the Pittsburg Fire Department as a volunteer in 2011. In 2013 he attended the Northeast Texas Community College Fire Academy. Toward the end of 2013, he started his employment with the City of Pittsburg in the Water Department. At the end of 2014, he transferred to the Fire Department for six months to temporarily serve as a Career Firefighter before permanently transferring in June of 2015. In October of 2020, he was promoted to Fire Marshal and Fire Supervisor. During his tenure, he has obtained the following Certs. Intermediate Structural Firefighter, Intermediate Fire Inspector II, Fire Officer II, Intermediate Fire Investigator, and Basic Wildland Firefighter. He is always pursuing his education to help better serve the department.
