Peoples and the city of Pittsburg have partnered to bring high-speed fixed wireless connections to unserved and underserved local residents. This partnership was coordinated by the Economic Development Corporation and reflects the city’s ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide and ensure that residents have access to high-speed internet.
Through this partnership Peoples will offer internet to residents and businesses in Pittsburg, helping to create a more connected and equitable community.
“We are grateful to be partnering with a municipality that recognizes the importance of broadband,”
Peoples is an internet service provider with over 30,000 connections in 19 counties. As a telecommunications company keeping communities connected since 1952, Peoples welcomes this opportunity. The company has a local presence and a strong commitment to customer service, making them an ideal partner for the City of Pittsburg. A few projects completed to date include premium fiber connections to anchor institutions including city offices, residential fixed wireless service to Dogwood Trail subdivision and gigabit fixed wireless business connections in downtown Pittsburg.
The partnership between the City of Pittsburg and Peoples is expected to have a significant impact on the community. Improved internet connectivity will benefit businesses, schools, healthcare providers, and residents, helping to drive economic growth and enhance the quality of life in the city.
