Rose Hill and Cedar Grove Cemeteries
The City of Pittsburg operates and provides maintenance to Rose Hill and Cedar Grove Cemeteries in Pittsburg. We welcome visitors to our cemeteries and ask that while visiting, you follow the guidelines that the city established with respect to the final resting place of loved ones and maintain the dignity of our cemeteries.
For the city to properly maintain the cemetery, including mowing and edging, we ask that you remove any items that could cause our maintenance crew to not properly keep the cemetery maintained. When items are left at grave sites and accumulate it causes delays in mowing and increases operational costs.
The City of Pittsburg adopted an ordinance in 1988 with the following regulations for the cemeteries in an effort to keep them maintained, accessible and maintenance costs as low as possible. We ask that if you have items that would be prohibited by this ordinance, you kindly remove these items by August 1, 2023. If items are not removed by this date, then city crews will remove and dispose of the items at that Time.
Rules and Etiquette
Hours: Open Sunrise and Close Sunset
Personal items shall not be left at the grave including but not limited to cradles, mementos, trinkets, statues, lights, toys, beverage containers, jars, and benches. These items are prohibited by city ordinances and will be removed.
Graves shall be level with the ground other than the monument. Enclosures, curbs, edging, fences, and the like are prohibited by city ordinance and will be removed if installed after 1988.
Shrubs, plants, and trees shall not be planted in any area of the cemetery. Any vegetation planted is prohibited by city ordinance and will be removed if planted after 1988.
All flowers placed on graves are allowed but will be removed when they become objectionable because of deterioration or cause interference with maintenance.
It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit or throw any rubbish in any cemetery, disturb or remove any flowers, shrubs, or bushes, or destroy or remove any monument in any cemetery.

Cementerios de Rose Hill y Cedar Grove
La ciudad de Pittsburg opera y proporciona mantenimiento a los cementerios de Rose Hill y Cedar Grove en Pittsburg. Damos la bienvenida a los visitantes a nuestros cementerios y le pedimos que, durante su visita, siga las reglas que la ciudad estableció con respeto al lugar de descanso final de sus seres queridos y para mantener la dignidad de nuestros cementerios.
Para que la ciudad mantenga adecuadamente el cementerio, incluyendo podar y bordear el césped, le pedimos que retire cualquier elemento que pueda causar que nuestro equipo de mantenimiento no mantenga adecuadamente el cementerio.
