Cost saving refurbishing brought new life to downtown trash cans

New life to trash cans

As the saying goes… “Another man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

And in our case, we are talking about our trash cans. We knew our existing cans had seen better days as their paint had faded, and with our recent changes to other things downtown, the green color no longer fit the flow of our goal for the downtown area.

After pricing out new trash cans ($1,500 each!), we decided to look for another alternative to help improve what we already owned. Thanks to the help of Priefert Manufacturing and our Street Department staff, our trash cans got an extreme makeover at the cost of ONE new can.

We had each can repaired as needed and painted their new black color, tying them into our new benches around the downtown area.
